“LUCY” – James Scott Cook and Julian Lennon Support Lupus Research

September 6th, 2010 by admin

One day, a very young Julian Lennon brought home from school a watercolor painting of his childhood friend Lucy Vodden, which inspired his father, John Lennon, to write one of his most famous songs Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Sadly, Lucy Vodden recently passed away at the age of 46 after long battle with lupus. James Scott Cooks 92-year-old grandmother, Lucy Cook, has lived with lupus for many years. To honor both of these women, James and Julian have partnered to co-write and release the song, LUCY and will donate a portion of the proceeds to lupus research, which will be shared equally between the Lupus Foundation of America and the St. Thomas Lupus Trust in Great Britain. Beginning December 15, 2009 through March 15, 2010, 100 percent of the proceeds from each download of LUCY from iTunes will be donated to lupus research. In addition, on December 15, James and Julian will release LUCY on a four-track EP. A portion of the proceeds from the EP also will be donated to the Lupus Foundation of America and the St. Thomas Lupus Trust in London. The EP includes a foldout copy of Julian Lennons original drawing of “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” (random copies have been personally autographed and numbered by Lennon) and features two versions of “LUCY,” the studio track and an acoustic version. Theres also Lennons slow and sentimental song Beautiful, which will appear on his full-length album “Everything Changes,” to be released in 2010, and Cooks song “Sober,” which will be

A Battle Lost to Lupus and the Health Care System. RIP JOE. We Will Miss You

September 2nd, 2010 by admin

We lost our friend Joe to Lupus on Tues, June 16,2009. Joe was a sweet, wonderful, humorous soul who was constantly fighting to receive medical care. Joe finally started getting the care he needed but not until his kidneys failed and went into congestive heart failure. Lupus is a Connective Tissue Disease. CTDs are more prevalent now than cancer in America today, yet most people have never heard of it. Joe was such a wonderful person and I know that the friends he and I share, and myself, will not let Joe die in vein. Please, help spread awareness.
